Hi! I am an activities director for an asst. living facility and we are hosting a "1940s Night at the Hollywood Canteen" event. The staff will be doing the "USO show" and I am looking for as much info as I can get in order to recreate not only the era and "feel" of a 1940's canteen but also material for the show. I'm focusing on a variety type format in order to get as many "names" from that period showing up as possible. I am attempting to put our mgt. staff of 7 in various roles of the time. For instance, I am looking for a REALLY FUNNY Burns & Allen skit (as inexpensive as possible - I have a very limited budget!), a mock interview with Rosie Riveter, have a Groucho Marx type, Marilyn Monroe type and a Shirley Temple. If anybody knows where I could get some dialogue or skits that would make up parts of a USO show - please let me know. thanks!

Ish Kabible and Sully Mason worked the comedy skit with Kay Keyser band during world war 2 or right after. I have there autographs and also Dorothy Dale , William Bendix and the Legendary Jim Thorpe. My dad was a Marine and got the Autographs before I was born. They made quite a few movies in the old days so you may be able to get a video of one of their movies and make those old peoples day. God Bless You!! Randy Cooper Charleston SC
